Wondering why I cannot find a review on Yelp for this restaurant. Friendliest welcome followed by excellent food. After a disastrous meal at Porto Fino's I was leery about going to another Italian at DB but thrilled I did. Excellent seafood pasta - not too heavy Outstanding in all respects. Will report after revisit tonight. Revisit was excellent - very friendly and the food was consistently good.

This is a great place for dinner in Daytona, their appetizers are wonderful and their entrees are simillarly good. Service was excllent and quick. I highly recommend it if you are visiting Daytona.

I admit that if it were anywhere else I'd give it 4 stars but in the culinary desert in the walkable radius of the convention center this restaurant is a jewel. Solid, homestyle Italian from a varriety of regions. Some decent wines, excellent service. Try the Lemoncello cake.

I would actually give this restaurant NO STARS. I went with 5 others after watching a play at the Peabody Auditorium. It was a nice evening so we sat outside to enjoy the breeze. The service was SLOW from the beginning. By the time our drink order was taken, we had examined the entire over-priced menu and knew what to order. However, the server quickly ran off and wasn't seen for another 10 minutes. Someone in our party ordered lasagna and was told they ran out of that dish. How is this possible? This is an Italian restaurant and it's barely 7 pm. Things continued to go downhill from that point. Another family that sat next to us walked out after also waiting a ridiculous long time for their order to be taken. The food was mediocre, absolutely nothing special about it. Someone asked to have her food to be boxed. The server placed it on another table while she went inside to get a box. In the meantime, a busboy came to clear our table and stacked the dishes on top of what needed to be boxed. The server came out and noticed this without realizing she was being watched. She took the plates of the top and proceeded with boxing the leftover pasta. Really? We left the box on the table for her to take home. Unreal! Consider yourself warned people. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

During the Daytona 500 weekend, two friends and I stopped in Rossellini for dinner. It was Saturday night before the final race. Upon entering the restaurant, the environment was appealing and full to capacity with a couple dozen people waiting for tables. There was no one greeting patrons nor anyone to take our name for the wait list. We managed to find where the list was located and waited five minutes before flagging a staff member down. He was courteous and advised he would inform the appropriate person. As we watched him approach the person to advise we arrived and needed service, the person immediately told him in haste and quite loud "Everyone must wait!". As you can imagine this didn't settle well, but this was our third restaurant visited and decided to stick it out. Once someone did assist, they advised it would be 30-40 minutes. We decided to get a few drinks from the bar while we waited. The bartender had the same frustrations as the other employee it appeared and was not keeping up with bar service or the bar guests. It took nearly 20-25 minutes to receive service only to have the bartender snap at us with an off putting remark. Despite the initial and further inappropriate behavior, we decided to stay. As we waited, we watched many tables complete their meal and patrons leave. The same person that was so rude before was bussing tables, and he was the least effective person in the restaurant. There was no management and he as well as a couple others thought it was best to partially set tables and have personal conversations rather than focusing on the job at hand. We observed 5 tables leave and it took nearly 20 minutes to set the tables. It was quite possible that the kitchen staff could not keep up with dishes, but the goal is to put people in seats as quick as possible. No excuses. We finally saw a woman who appeared to be waiting on tables, take charge and start to direct the staff. Tables started getting seated and within another 10-15 minutes we were seated. The server arrived at our table and was pleasant, responsive, and professional. We ordered appetizers, salads, main course, and a bottle of wine. All items were excellent except for the wine. It was average at best. Our appetizer was the fried calamari, the salads were Caesar, and the main courses were chicken parm, veal parm, and prosciutto wrapped shrimp over garlic polenta. Despite the poor service prior to our meal, once seated we were treated well with good food served. I would recommend going to this restaurant when it is not so busy and tend to stay away from the bar area. I understand the fact that it's the busiest weekend of the year, but there's no excuse for unprofessional behavior and lack of direction. This review would be far different otherwise.

I can honestly say that I wish we hadn't gone here. All of the following were well below par: food, service, price. We had to send food back and then some of what we ordered never came. We had to remind the waiter to not charge us for the food that never came. The staff spent most of the time talking about the previous nights exploits as customers waited. I normally don't mind if something goes wrong in a place, it happens to the best. But this was just all around painful. Maybe they were just having an 'off' night. We will never go back to know.

Let me start this review by saying I've never written a restaurant review before. I just had such a bad experience here I had to. I had been here twice before, and had great experiences. But in going here on 9/27/11 I had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. Paid $18 for 5 spoonfuls of pasta with a few strips of chicken. I think it was the most over-priced meal I've ever-eaten. The pasta was on a salad dish. When I asked my server if this was the full portion, she just responded "yes" in broken English. No offer for more bread or any additional food. When I called to speak to a manager, the genetleman was rude as well and very quick to hang up. Just got back to my hotel after dinner and starving. Not quite your goal after you head out to eat. Over-priced, rude, and the food is mediocre at best. Avoid.

Walked up from the beach with my girl and bought two crappy t-shirts at the souvenir nearby so that we could eat inside at Rossellini's. We looked like tramps, but our server Mike treated us like royalty anyway. He was a class act. One of the best servers we've ever experienced. Food, also great. Photographed: Tilapia with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Meat Lover's pizza. Everything cooked right and the mozzarella's made in-house. Dynamite.

Cant tell you anything about the food, but as a party of four we walked into an empty restaurant and was asked if we had reservations...we did not so they told us to give them 10 minutes and they would find is a table (it was empty) after 10 minutes noone came back tonus so we left

Wasn't expecting Italian this good right next to the beach. The crab stuffed flounder and the ravioli with shrimp was delicious!

  • Rick G.

The atmosphere is nice. The appetizer was good. The meal and service were not so good. The food was way overpriced for the quality of the meal. Spaghetti and meatballs and chicken scampi and four glasses of wine was $80.00 without the tip. Pretty much a $100.00 meal but not worth it.

Lovely experience. Tim, our waiter, was low key and engaging. We enjoyed well prepared cocktails (Lemon Drop Martini & Godfather Margarita) with the complementary pita and olive spread...very tasty. I had the fabulous lamb chops and my husband had a very good pizza. They would be on our regular restaurant rotation if we lived here.

This was probably the best food I ever ate. If you like Italian then this is the place to go. Our waiter was awesome too! Next time we are in Daytona we will definitely go there.

Amazing food, wine selections, and atmosphere. They have an open kitchen which I enjoy. We received pita bread with tamponade which was wonderful. Caesar was well prepared. Chicken parm that my wife had was delicious. Mamma Mia chicken was very good and well portioned. The white Zinfandel was very good as well. Atmosphere was fun with classic Italian music and live singer. Our experience was very nice for a Valentine's Day night and the best Italian food in Daytona beach.

Owner refused to take gift card we had bought even when he was shown that it was still valid . He broke a federal law by not taking it . I can not comment I the food but owner was rude therefore I will never return and advise all not to go .I wasted 1 1/2 hours of my day driving there and back for nothing . Ruined my families day. As a business owner and dealing personally with clients I would never handled it the way he did .

Food was great, but our waitress was very unprofessional giving us attitude when asked to split the check. Made for an uncomfortable experience. Everyone else was very helpful though.

The best part about Rossellini's is the service. We had a semi-major wipe-out incident in the parking lot, and one of us was pretty badly scuffed up in their gravel parking lot. Everyone at the restaurant was quick to provide a first aid kid, ice, and a chair to elevate the injured leg. And they kept checking back in on us- which may have led to a bit of embarrassment for my aunt, but they really did seem to care that she was okay. Unfortunately, the food was not as great as the kind people that work there. They started us with some pita bread (a bit more Greek than Italian to me) with olive spread. The olive spread had pieces of plastic in it - thankfully I saw it before I ate it. I had the orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage - which tasted very watery. It was almost like they did not drain the pasta completely, so the water covered any possible flavors that they may have added to the sauce. They also had 'music' which was a husband and wife playing some CDs and singing along. Entertaining- but maybe not the for the right reasons. Good service. OK music. And not so good food.

One of our favorites. Real Italian in Daytona and a nice wine selection. If you want authentic Italian food in Daytona Beach, look no further than Rossellini's. Best Italian food around. Very authentic and service is great. I heartily recommend it!

We tried Rossellini's, on a recommendation from a friend, on New Year's Day, January, 2015. We visit Daytona a lot when we're in Florida, and have seen this place, but never stopped in till this trip. What a delight! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is there was a bit of weirdness when we first walked in. Nobody acknowledged us at first, so we waited awkwardly at the door. Finally someone said there would be a 15-20 minute wait and suggested sitting at the bar, which we did- but there was no one behind the bar serving drinks! FINALLY someone came to do that, and we were seated at our table shortly after. From there, the experience was awesome. We had the bruschetta (yum) as an appetizer, and also, on the suggestion of our server, a home made mozarella appetizer that my husband loved. They serve a flat bread with an olive paste as the house bread- very tasty. I don't like olives (no, really- I don't) but the spread had garlic and other seasoning, and it was very good. He ordered the pasta fagioli, which we shared. I've never had it before (not a big veggie fan) but this was amazing. SOOOO good! We took some home for his mother. Actually, the portions were huge, and we ended up taking some of everything home with us. I had the lasagne, which was very good, and he had..... uh... I actually can't remember what he had but he loved it too. Maybe angel hair with sausage? Yeah, that rings a bell. Anyway, everything was delicious and we ordered desserts to take home along with all our left overs. Spectacular. Loved the decor- reminds me of some of the Little Italy (NYC) places I've been to. Kind of pricy- ok, more like quite expensive, but you could eat here and just be mindful of what you're spending and be ok if you don't want to spend a lot. Honestly, by the time we paid for TWO appetizers (really, hubby??) and a few rounds of drinks, plus desserts- we could have shaved $40 or so off our bill if we'd skipped it. But- we were on vacation, and we couldn't have chosen a better place to start the new year. We will definitely be back!

In Daytona for vacation. FANTASTIC Iitalian and outstanding service. Prices are very reasonable and they have a kids menu to die for (small portions off their normal menu!! At $5-$7). Highly recommended and the seafood dishes are of course as fresh as it comes.

If you are looking for cold beer don't go here. The food is definitely not Italian. Service is poor to say the least. 2 out of 5 plates of food were returned. I would warn anyone drone this place. The manager is putting out fires everywhere and still has not had time to come see us. Warning!

Unbelievably rude. We came in as a group of 17 and the guy who was setting up our table said "No. No," very rudely when saying we wanted to set our tables in a U instead of two separate tables, so that we could all kind of face each other. When we insisted, another person came up and said "what do you want us to throw the plates at you?" One of our group said "no. We have no problem passing the plates ourselves." Due to group politics we stayed but if it were up to me I would have left at this point. I'm assuming the rudeness was stemming from the fact they were closing in 50 minutes and he knew he'd be there an extra 20 minutes if he sat us, but still. 17 people? And for THESE prices? How can you sabotage that? As a business owner, I would've fired this worker immediately. I suppose it's a bad sign when one place is empty and another across the street has a 70 minute wait (which is why we came here in the first place). The waiter continued to be rude when we sat, and so one of our group requested a different server. The second server was much nicer, and if he sat us from the get-go this place may have gotten 3 stars, but alas, the food was expensive and everyone who ordered eggplant parmigiana received it under cooked, and the spaghetti was a little cold as well. I'm pretty sure it would've been damn good Eggplant if it were cooked properly, because it was still decent as it was (though other's didn't think so). After my experience I certainly can't recommend this place.

I went there for dinner tonight and found black curly hair in our dessert. The manager didn't even come out to apologize nor was any discount given. There is nothing worse then finding hair in your food along with poor/disgraceful management. If you want this experience then I recommend this place for you.

On our last day in Daytona, we came to Rossellini for dinner. Both my husband and I had shrimp for our entrees. He had the Farfalle and I had the shrimp wrapped in prosciutto. We were both very pleased with our selection. Our waiter was helpful and attentive (he hails from nj). And Will from across the street at Triple X highly recommended this restaurant.

I was down here for Bike Week. I love Italian food, the place looked pretty on inside & outside. When I went inside one waitress, no one greeted us. So I went up to a waitress and she told me the wait will be 45min. Didn't even take my name down & never called me. So I sat myself. Service was slow, she forgot about us. Food finally came out after a long wait all flat and soggy! The lasagna was as flat as bread. Tasted water down bread. Waitress used "under staff" as an excuse. Heard from others months ago they told them same thing. Dinner was way overpriced for the worst food and service ever! Got sick after as well. Horrible!!

Happened to stumble in here for lunch a number of years back on a random weekday. The owner was the only person in the restaurant and he was also acting as our waiter. It started off as any other dining experience would and then it got weird. Before he took our order, he came up to the table and asked my wife "Is that your Mini Cooper parked out back?" Yes, she answered cautiously. "Can it really get up to 120 MPH?" I don't think they would put it on there for show, she replied. While we looked over the menu, this guy was outside (probably smoking) and just happened to walk across the parking lot and look into my wife's car. What he was actually looking for was beyond either of us. With her and I being the only customers, I was hoping his next question wasn't "How big is your trunk?" Anyway, I got a small pizza and she got a steak (this was when she was still a uneducated carnivore). During the meal, our waiter returns to ask us "Where do you live?!" Not to ask us how we're doing or if we need anything but where we lived. I thought he wanted an address for a second, but my wife told him "Holly Hill." His eyes lit up. "You're extra special to us then!" This guy would have been flamboyantly interested in the air had we not shown up. The whole situation made us really uncomfortable. He came to take our plates and noticing that my wife ate her entire meal, he loudly stated "You must have been hungry!" So the food was good. All of our pop refills came from single cans that were behind the bar. Not sure if their fountain machine was broke or if that was common practice. I'll admit that I'm not a social butterfly, but this guy was just way too up in our psychical.

Fantastic food and service at good prices. We had the homemade stuffed mozzarella for an ap w chef recommend wine. To die for! My husband had the lamb chops superbly done with just a hint of rosemary. I had the chicken scaloppine which had a magnificent silly sauce. Service was perfectly timed. Five stars for taste presentation, flavors, portions, service & price! Fantastic!

This place is very classy and has excellent waiters. They are nicely dressed and address you promptly. The waiter was able to suggest meals to us and we had two appetizers. The eggplant one and the caprese salad. They had a decent taste. The main courses were huge plates, easily shared. I have the Rossellini's Farfalle pasta. It was a heavier dish than I imagined, but was robust in flavor and scrumptious. I was a little disappointed there wasn't a stuffed shell, manacotti or ravioli dish, which are typically my favorite to try, but they did have a good variety of meats and vegetarian dishes. I had the peach bellini with my meal and it was crisp with just enough sweetness for my taste. I would recommend giving this place a try. It came across as authentic and the different dishes were delectable.

In a resort ( aka tourist) area we were hesitant to try a restaurant near our hotel . We Searched Yelp and chose Rossellini's on Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach. All we can say is you will be very satisfied with the variety , specialties and authenticity of this delicious Italian restaurant. I had pasta carbonara and my companions had chicken piccata - all exceptional. The service is attentive and personal , Great place! GO!

Last evening we were in Daytona Beach, searching for a restaurant. We found Rossellini's and decided to try them. The greetings as we walked in the door were pleasant and welcoming. After being seated, reviewing the menu and meeting our server we knew we made the right choice. The food was delicious, we choose 2 veal dishes and it was the best we've had in a very long time. If you're in area, plan to go to Rossellini's, you won't be disappointed.

The worst band ever!( if you don't believe me they are coming back next Saturday) Waiter had to come back to the table three times to ask what wine we ordered..... Food had no favor what so ever, granted if I was the cook listening to that music, I wouldn't care either. The food tasted like it came out of a can, veal was way over cooked !

HORRIBLE! Was in town for the Daytona 500. My husband and I decided to walk down from our hotel to have a quick dinner before grabbing some drinks at the Ocean Deck. We walked in no one greeted us, didn't even acknowledge we were standing there. Finally a customer said, "You may want to take your own seat doesn't look like anyone is coming." So we sat at the bar, next to a lady who was complaining that she had been waiting for a very long time to a waitress who was arguing with her. Then adjacent was a young couple who were trying to order, but were being ignored. The bartender walked by and said, "Give me a minute and I will help you!" Very rude! We were still never even acknowledged. After seeing all the complaining people we decided to just leave. No way would I ever give those people a cent. They do not care about their customers, when there was plenty of staff walking around doing nothing. The place is a dump, its dirty and very outdated. We told everyone about this crazy place. They sure have lost a lot of business this way. We ended up at another restaurant on the corner. where we were treated properly and with respect.

***Disclaimer: We only come here for drinks and dessert so if you are looking to find out if they have good linguine you should probably read a different review.*** We like this place because it's a nice place that is close to the hotel we stay at with outdoor seating and clientele that has sleeves and no airbrushing on their shirts. Usually by the time we make it here we have stuffed our faces already so there's only room for booze. It's right on the main drag so that can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. Definitely the place for people watching. And they put up plexiglass to separate you from the animals walking by. Parking can be a little tricky if it's a crowded weekend as there is only a small lot in the back. The drink selection from the bar is pretty large as is the wine list. And everything is made with a pretty heavy hand which we like. We usually get something with limoncello in it because one of us really likes the idea of limoncello but is unable to admit to herself how much it sucks. So after we force that down we order something good...like patron shots and/or long islands and/or mimosas and/or wine and/or all of the above. Desserts are good as well...can't go wrong with cheesecake or tiramasu. We go back here every time we are in town so they must do something right. We give this place 4 ferrari's out of 5

Terrible terrible terrible. I ordered a classic lasagna and it was so salty, i didnt finish it. I came with a group and had several from my party say the same. To close the night, our server, the proclaimed "owner" tried to refuse seperating each persons check. Her reply was that she had to "call to new jersey" to be able to do that and that it would be a long wait. Worst place ever!

The ambiance is rustic, light is a little dim, lots of pictures of Italy and some paintings. Menu is traditional. We ordered clams and mussels for appetizer. They served as flat bread with tapenade which is free the first serving but $3.00 for a refill, but it was worth it because it was tasty and addictive. We had fettuccini shrimp scampi, spaghetti con frutti de mare, spaghetti alla carbonara and octopus on red sauce. Wow, that was awesome meal. To top it all that, we all shared a cannoli and tiramisu. It was was great and quite a memorable. The service is very friendly and professional. Wallet friendly for its location. We will definitely return.

The wait staff is wonderful. Food is just not good. First, bread was some store bought pita bread. Next, the calamari was alright but the portion was so skimpy and all the pieces were different sizes. I ordered the eggplant and it was rubbery and the side of spaghetti was over cooked and unappealing.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
